Inner Drive
- Innovative Strive to create a space for others to dynamically grow and learn
- Purposeful Disruption We must use authentic stressor points that stretch long standing norms if we are to allow divergent opportunities with nuggets of truth to surface
- Creativity Self-reflection is an essential part of the learning process - true for individuals and cultures at large
My Vision
I created Limitless Learning Lab to help organizations and individuals clearly define their drive and courageously embrace this age of expansiveness.
The world and its story
Everything has increased in complexity as technological advances have allowed us to connect more and more, breaking down false barriers between groups of people, cultures and nations. False, because these barriers are man-made - defining a group as "such and such" or creating an invisible line and calling it a border to separate nations does not change the landscape, it merely creates a false sense of separateness - even culture and language are false barriers if one is willing to suspend that they have the "right" view of the world and the people in it. Creating a Natural State of Learning With all this complexity and disruption, comes a natural state of learning caused by a continual shift in perception created by the constant stream of information we receive from each other, media, and for the very intuitive, a feeling of "change" in the air! In other words, the world is currently in it's optimal state of learning - ready for change! Old structures and belief systems, no longer serving the needs of individuals with new ideas and models of living and learning. My Professional Journey I have always explored the edges of our learning cultures, drawn to explore what isn't working and why, pulled to the edges of our educational system. I started in bilingual education, language development and at-risk students, where I I taught in upper grade elementary and middle school. I loved these kids, they didn't fit the norm of our school learning culture, and still had a deep desire to know! |
Families as Learning Partners
This drew me to their families where I moved to the district office to coordinate parent involvement programs. I developed an understanding for the need to have Cultural Bridges to close the gap between the learning cultures at home and at school. I created a systematic program to build parent capacity to engage and collaborate with schools. And then, the iPad came out! Living on the Edge I had always lived on the edge of innovation with a deep curiosity to push the boundaries of exploration and shift our learning cultures. Technology amplified my ability to do this and an ed tech coordinator was born! I worked as a Coordinator of Digital Learning Innovation with San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools in educational technology. Learning about disrupting learning to respond to the needs of all learners. Identifying characteristics of a 21st Century learning environment that would build the skills necessary for our 21st Century students to be successful. Exciting times! Today I serve you taking my extensive work in K12 and my Masters degree in Clinical Psychology, working with individuals as a coach in developing a stronger intuitive voice in their personal self-growth as well as working with organizations to change their learning culture. |
